DESCRIPTION:Date: June 15\, 2021\, 7:00-8:30pm     \nWhen a child has a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) who looks like them\, speaks their language\, and can understand their racial and cultural experiences\, they are better served and supported. At Fairfax CASA\, it is important to us that our CASA volunteers reflect the diversity of the children we serve. As of today\,  34% of the children we currently serve in Fairfax County Hispanic (Latino/Latina?)\, yet less than 17% of the general population of Fairfax is Hispanic (Latino/Latina?) We need a diverse pool of volunteers who can provide culturally competent advocacy to these children\, today. Join us for an online presentation via Zoom to learn about the role and responsibilities of a Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused and neglected children\, and how to become one. Join us this year for a VIRTUAL family-friendly 5K race or 3K run/walk from your own neck of the woods. Sign up with family and friends\, challenge your co-workers\, or just get out of the house and BE A HERO for an abused and neglected child. Run the race of your choice all April long\, at your own pace. Be a Hero and Run for a Child! \n\n\n\nSave the date for April 24th at 9 am for our live streaming Virtual Race Party! \n\n\n\nAbused and neglected children need support from all of us in order to reach their potential.
