Largest Number of CASA Advocates in Over a Decade Sworn In!

Last month, our winter 2025 training class swore in, adding an astonishing 17 new advocates to Fairfax CASA, as well as our newest supervisor, Ashley Demaree. Judge Todd Petit, who administered the oath of the largest group of enthusiastic advocates, expressed his and the court’s deep appreciation for their selfless commitment to helping the children of Fairfax County. He emphasized that he will be relying on them to provide invaluable information that will be instrumental in their assigned child’s case.

Fairfax CASA’s newest advocates completed over 35 hours of training, attended a court hearing, and conducted a case study, which culminated in a written court report submitted for review. Their unwavering dedication and hard work will help move children off our growing waitlist, providing them with a consistent support system and a dedicated advocate.

The children of Fairfax county depend on committed and caring volunteers like our advocates to ensure their voices are represented in the courtroom. As our waitlist continues to grow, we are actively seeking recruits for our next training class of advocates. If you or someone you know is ready to show up for the children in our Fairfax community, attend one of our upcoming virtual information seminars.
